Tom Deering (USA) created an excelent tool for designing balloons using a variety of gore construction methods. It used all imperial units of measure which I found distressing so I modified it (mostly) to use metric units.

If you enter weights and costs of your base materials the spreadsheet will calculate an approximate cost in addition to designing the gores.
